Smooth renewal, easy automation

I've been using ZeroSSL for a few 90-day SSL Certificates for a while now. This time, I decided to try out their ACME Automation feature. Setting it up was pretty simple with my server. The certificates renewed automatically, which was a huge time-saver compared to manual renewals. I also used their SSL Checker tool, which confirmed everything was installed correctly after the first setup. The whole process was painless. I had a quick question about API access for a different project, and their technical support got back to me within a few hours with a clear answer. Definitely makes managing multiple certificates much easier.

Good free cert

I used the Free SSL Certificate for my small site. It was quick to set up. Validation was pretty fast, email validation worked well. Got the certificate installed without any issues. Happy with it so far.

Decent service, quick install

I purchased a 1-year SSL Certificate for my e-commerce site. The process was straightforward, and I used the HTTP File Validation which took about 15 minutes. The pricing was reasonable, especially with the annual plan discount I found. Delivery of the cert files was instant after validation. My only small gripe is that their support response time, when I had a question about multi-domain setup, took a little longer than I expected, around 24 hours. Overall, a solid experience and good value.

I'm torn between ZeroSSL and Let's Encrypt. Any real differences I should know about for a small business website?

T Troy F. 3 weeks ago
ZeroSSL offers more tools out of the box, like a web interface for managing certs and a bot. Let's Encrypt is more command-line focused. Both are trusted CAs though.

I found ZeroSSL's dashboard easier to use, especially for someone who isn't super techy. They also have 1-year options if you pay, which is less frequent renewal than LE's 90 days.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a premium plan, but I'm wondering if there are any current promo codes floating around. Don't wanna miss out on a discount.

I Ivy 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually have some kind of deal for new sign-ups, especially for the annual plans. Check their site banners or sometimes a quick Google search for 'ZeroSSL promo code' works.

I got 20% off my first year with a code I found during Black Friday. Just make sure you apply it at checkout before paying, it won't work after.

How long does it usually take to validate a certificate? I need one for a new site pretty quickly.

D Derek Ito 3 weeks ago
It's usually super fast, like minutes if you do the automated domain validation. Especially if your DNS is already set up.

Yeah, I've had mine validated almost instantly using the HTTP file method. Just upload a small file and you're good to go. Never really waited more than 5-10 minutes.

Is the free certificate actually useful? Or is it super limited compared to something like Let's Encrypt?

L Laura Lindqvist 1 month ago
It's totally free and works for 90 days. You just have to renew it. I used it for a small personal site for a while before upgrading. It's legitimate.

It's pretty good for basic stuff, but if you need wildcard certs or multi-domain, the free plan doesn't cover that. Let's Encrypt is similar in that regard, I think.
